Why You Need an EMF Radiation Detector?

EMF Radiation Detector

Those concerned with the effects of electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation are probably aware of, or have at least heard of, an EMF radiation detector. But, what does it do, and why should you have it? Here is why you need an EMF radiation detector for personal use.

What Is an EMF Radiation Detector?

The simple answer is that it measures EMF radiation on the go. The EMF radiation detector is able to measure the electromagnetic field in a particular area. More specifically, an electromagnetic field (EMF) detector gives a precise measurement of the electromagnetic waves in the specific area that the user is measuring.

There are two types of measurements that this device takes: One is Frequency-selective measurements, and the other is broadband measurements.

How Do You Use One?

To give you an idea, there are three different kinds of electromagnetic radiation you may be looking for. They are low-frequency, high-frequency, and natural.

Natural is a good thing. This is the kind of electromagnetic radiation that occurs within our planet and is good for us. It includes not only our earth’s natural magnetic field, but it includes things like electricity from a thunderstorm.

The other two aren’t as good. Low-frequency radiation is going to be found in certain electrical sources. These can include anything from your home appliances to stronger sources such as power transformers.

The high-frequency sources are the most harmful. These sources include things like laptops, WIFi routers, and smartphones.

What you may not know is that if there are very high levels of electromagnetic radiation in your home, it can affect your electronic devices – from your television to your cell phone.

Learning Your EMF Radiation Exposure and Why You Need an EMF Detector

Having your own personal EMF radiation detector allows you to know what is going on within your home. This device gives you insight into areas that may be sources of EMF radiation so you know what to do to try to mitigate some of the harm. Plus, you have peace of mind that you can take measures to reduce your exposure and always know the levels of exposure at home.

I come from an R&D engineering background. Safely dealing with EMF was part of my work. As technology evolved and EMF moved from my work into the home, it became more important to deal with it in a sensible way. There is lots of controversy on EMF's impact to health. Fortunately, there are some simple principles you can apply to minimize impact and exposure until the science of EMF's impact on humans is resolved.
