Lighting and EMF Radiation Risk

Lighting And EMF Radiation

When you think of EMF radiation, your first thoughts probably aren’t of the lighting in your home or work. But it is true that certain types of lightning are more harmful than others. Read more about lighting and EMF radiation Risk, and what you can do to protect yourself.

The Harmful Types of Lighting and EMF Radiation Risk

The one type of lighting we think of doing the most harm is fluorescent lighting.

A fluorescent lamp or fluorescent tube is a gas-discharge lamp that uses electricity to excite mercury vapor. The excited mercury atoms produce short-wave ultraviolet light that then causes a phosphor to fluoresce, producing visible light. A fluorescent lamp converts electrical power into useful light much more efficiently than incandescent lamps. The luminous efficacy of a compact fluorescent light bulb is about 60 lumens per watt which is four times the efficacy of a typical incandescent bulb.- Wikipedia

The reason these are more harmful than incandescent bulbs is actually quite simple. These bulbs emit shorter wavelengths of frequency. Making them faster and shorter in wavelength. They go past the light we can visually see in the area of the ultraviolet spectrum. This helps them penetrate deeper into human cells causing abnormalities.

Research shows that with increased exposure in women & children, there are more birth defects, cancer, ADD, autism, and childhood leukemia.

For adults, there are also issues including blurred vision, headaches, nausea, fatigue, and many more effects that you might not realize are coming from your lighting.

What Is the Alternative?

Full-spectrum lights are a better alternative and have been shown in studies to increase activity in the classroom. When rats were tested, they nurtured their offspring, as opposed to eating the offspring when fluorescent lighting was used.

The best thing for your home is to replace any fluorescent lighting you may have. We realize this isn’t possible at your workplace, though. Unless you’re the one in charge. You can wear something with shungite on it or keep shungite at your desk if possible. At least that may help to protect you from lighting’s EMF Radiation Risk.

I come from an R&D engineering background. Safely dealing with EMF was part of my work. As technology evolved and EMF moved from my work into the home, it became more important to deal with it in a sensible way. There is lots of controversy on EMF's impact to health. Fortunately, there are some simple principles you can apply to minimize impact and exposure until the science of EMF's impact on humans is resolved.
