The Growing Awareness of 5G Dangers: A Rising Public Concern As 5G technology continues to expand…
Protection From 5G Technology
By now, most people have heard of 5G technology, and some are quite excited about it. But knowing the risks here is how to get more protection from 5G technology.
What is 5G?
For everyone who owns a smartphone, 5G technology claims to be faster, and is the latest in cellphone communication.
If you use a smartphone, then you probably appreciate faster speeds in downloads, uploads, browsing the World Wide Web, and more. But with it comes risks.
5G Speed and Frequency Ranges
Here is what you need to know about the speed and frequency ranges of 5G technology.
- Low Band – 600 MHz – 1 GHz (same speed as 4G) – 99.99 % of the 5G network
- Mid Band – 1 GHz – 6 GHz (3 X 4G speed) – 99.99 % of the 5G network
- High Band – 24 GHz, 28 GHz, 39 GHz and above (15 X 4G speed) – 0.01 % of the 5G network
- Low and Mid bands transmit 24/7 – High band transmits on demand
- 5G Uses Small Cell Antennas
What Are the Problems With 5G Technology?
Along with EMF radiation risks, 5G technology is far from perfect. In fact, its mid and low ranges are only a little bit faster than the older technology of 4G LTE.
5G technology also uses a lot of power, which drains your battery faster.
The high band signals of 5G technology find it difficult to go through certain buildings – those with walls and glass. When you think about it, that’s most buildings. This is using the FCC limits at the current time.
4G LTE took a full 10 years to fully implement, and 5G technology is expected to take about the same amount of time. What this means is that the full features of 5G technology are not available as of yet. At least, not until it’s fully installed.
Now the high band is faster than 4G LTE, but there are rules to this. They are typically limited to densely populated areas, such as college campuses, stadiums, airports, convention centers, arenas, metro stops, and places similar in the population at a given time.
Other Concerns With 5G Technology
- Demand for more data, doubling every two years in urban areas
- Too much data traffic on current macro cell towers, so more small cell antennas are required:
- Small Cell 4G/5G antennas on every other power pole
- The power of the cell phone itself is stronger than you realize
- Biological impact of millimeter waves (more investigation required)
What You Can Do for Protection from 5G Technology?
There are a few things to keep in mind to help you better protect yourself. One is to not use 5G at all. That will eventually become difficult as more 5G phones are rolled out. You can try to reduce your use though. Forwarding calls to a home phone helps. You can also use a hardwired PC for email and web browsing. And as always, limit the time you use your phone, and try to go for as little use as possible.
