Health Reasons That Support a 5G Ban In Some Countries The rollout of 5G technology has…
What is 5G?
You see a lot about 5G, but what is it exactly? Why is it potentially unsafe? We hope to educate you a little when asking, “What is 5G?”
What Is 5G?
It is the fifth generation of cellular network technology. It is a significant upgrade from previous generations, offering much faster speeds and lower latency. It is still in its early stages of deployment, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way we use mobile devices.
It offers a number of advantages over previous generations of cellular technology. These include:
- Much faster speeds: 5G can offer speeds of up to 10 Gbps, which is 100 times faster than 4G.
- Lower latency: 5G has a latency of just 1 millisecond, which is much lower than the latency of 4G (around 50 milliseconds). This means that 5G is much better suited for real-time applications such as video streaming and gaming.
- More capacity: 5G can support more devices than previous generations of cellular technology. This is because it uses a different type of radio wave that can carry more data.
5G has the potential to revolutionize the way we use mobile devices. It could enable new applications such as self-driving cars, virtual reality, and augmented reality. It could also make it possible to stream high-definition video and music without buffering.
5G is still in its early stages of deployment, but it is expected to become widely available in the next few years.
Why is 5G Potentially Unsafe?
According to Scientific American,
Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life.
Numerous studies are being done every day on the potential effects of 5G, and some have shown the potential for harm in a number of ways.
Benefits Vs Negative Effects
As you can see from the portion on “What is 5G,” there are plenty of benefits to this technology. But, at what cost? Some of the negative effects aren’t worth the benefits. And who is to say we’ll stop at 5G? Is there a 6G coming? Actually, there is.
As stated at Zdnet,
Although 5G connectivity is still by no means universally available, even in developed parts of the world, planning and research for the next generation, 6G, is already underway.
It looks like, even with the negative effects, that 5G is just the start.
